Beginning March 6, join us at FYR Short North to discover the romance of Italy through a wholly distinctive dining experience curated by Chef Sebastian La Rocca as he pays homage to his Italian ancestry.

Introducing FYR Italy, a unique culinary takeover that will transport guests to southern Italy for a limited time. Born and raised in Foggia, located in Italy’s southern region of Puglia, Chef’s grandfather Eduardo had a profound impact on his life. Teaching him from a young age that food should be about celebration and coming together with those we love, Eduardo had a significant influence on Chef’s culinary point of view and the important role of food in our communities.

Every Sunday, Eduardo and his family would gather ingredients from local farmers, coming together to break bread with siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. It was here that gatherings centered around pasta, fabulous food and great conversation.

MENU HIGHLIGHTS

Don’t miss Chef’s Stracciatella, a traditional dish from Foggia, paired with a kumquat compote that pays homage to his grandma “Lele.” Honoring Chef’s Italian stepfather, Alejandro’s Spinach Malfatti Gratin was the first dish he made for Chef when they first met – a dish Chef continues to enjoy every time he goes back to visit. Tagliata di Manzo (pictured below) is a classic Italian dish using very simple ingredients, including arugula, confit dried tomatoes, and real parmesan aged 12 years.

Live la dolce vita with a unique Italian dessert, like the Frozen Grapes that are served with dark chocolate and paired with a sip of Grappa, or Sicilian Style Oranges, made with Parmigiano Reggiano cream, olive oil, and served with a biscotti. Or enjoy Italian classics like Tiramisu and Italian Cheesecake.

While the menu for FYR Italy was inspired by central and southern Italy, guests will have a chance to order some of their favorite classic FYR dishes during this time, like the Empanadas Saltenas, Chilled Wood-Oven Roasted Tomato, FYR’s Caesar Salad, Roasted Salmon and Ohio Dry-Aged Tomahawk.
